Sohal Tang Behavior
Earl fish like to live in coral reefs.
Below are the typical habits and behaviors of the Sohal Tang. Let's learn more!
Highly territorial
Sohal Tang is a highly territorial fish, it is always aggressive and tries to protect its territory from similar-looking fish, especially other tangs.
In captivity, the Count fish will attack any other species that invades its "territory". Therefore, it is best not to keep too many of these fish in one tank if the tank is not large enough.
Very active
The Count is very active, preferring to move around the tank or around the reef in search of algae rather than staying still or looking for a hiding place.
Good defensive behavior
When threatened or fighting for territory, the Count fish will use the sharp "thorn" on its tail to attack by swiping, slashing or scaring its opponent. Therefore, when you want to catch this fish by hand, be careful with this thorn to avoid injury.
Like to live alone
Countess fish do not like to live in schools but prefer to live alone or live with a few gentle, non-territorial fish, especially fish of different families.
Love to eat algae
Sohal Tang is an algae-eating fish. They like to eat seaweed and moss on rocks or corals, so in the artificial aquarium you should add dried seaweed to meet their dietary needs.

- Aquarium background : Decorate with live or dead rocks, taking up 20 - 30% of the tank volume, create many caves and crevices for fish to hide in, and can decorate with some hard corals.
- Filtration and circulation system : Use overflow filter or strong external filter, equip with skimmer, wave machine to create strong flow.
- LED lighting system : If you do not raise corals, use LED lights with medium light. If you raise corals, you must use specialized types such as Radion, Kessil...
- Additional equipment : If possible, equip with a heater, UV light to limit pathogens, Auto to off (ATO) to keep the water level in the tank stable.
